About the specialist
Assoc. Prof. Cihangir Çakıcı is an obstetrician-gynaecologist, IVF specialist and the founder of the Ankalife clinic network. He graduated from the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1983 and was awarded the title of associate professor in 1995.
He is among the first physicians certified in IVF in Türkiye. In 1996 he founded and directed the IVF centre at Bayındır Hospital, and in 1997 he trained in assisted reproduction in Belgium and Israel. Since 2008 he has developed centres under the Ankalife name: Bishkek (2015), Tashkent (2019), Andijan and Osh (2022).
He served as secretary general of the Ankara Gynaecology Association (1992–1994) and of the Turkish Gynaecology Association (1994–1995). In 2013 he founded the Doctors’ Association to protect physicians’ rights and remains its president; in 2023 he was elected president of the Turkish Infertility Foundation. He has published widely in Türkiye and abroad and speaks at conferences and training programmes. He is a fluent English speaker.
